65th Independence: Nigeria On Path To Greatness, Says Obasa

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary, declaring that Nigeria is firmly on the path to greatness.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Research, Media, and Documentation, Adeshina Oyetayo, Obasa described the milestone as more than just a celebration of sovereign nationhood.
“This anniversary is not just a celebration of 65 years of our independence. It is a celebration of our diversity and dynamism, our unity and resilience despite crippling challenges, and the progress we have made, especially in the past two years,” he said.
The Speaker commended Nigerians for their patience during the hardship that accompanied ongoing economic reforms, assuring that the difficult phase was now behind the nation.
Quoting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Obasa said: “The economy has turned a corner. We are no longer where we used to be. The worst is behind us. The economy has stabilised and is strengthening. Now, we can look forward to a Nigeria that has shed lethargy and complacency, and is ready to take its rightful place among developed economies of the world.”
He praised President Tinubu for stabilising the economy, enhancing security, and implementing infrastructure projects that continue to drive national renewal.
Referencing this year’s theme, “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands On Deck For A Greater Nation,” Obasa urged Nigerians to unite, support the Renewed Hope Agenda, and commit to building a stronger country.
“This is the time to celebrate not just our past achievements but also the assured greatness that lies ahead for Nigeria,” he added.
