Irewolede CDA Empowers Residents  With Vocational Skills In Lagos

 

The executives of  Irewolede Community Development Area (CDA) in Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA  of Lagos State, have trained some residents of the area in various vocational skills ranging from Hairdressing, Barbing, Head gear tieing, Photography, Soap making, Tie and Dye.

The empowerment programme which was held for one month, was designed to mark the anniversary of the first tenure of 2-year term for the CDA executives.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony, the Chairman of the CDA, Abayomi Adeniji, thanked all the executives, residents, faculty, volunteering Facilitators and the students for believing in them.

He listed various projects the CDA executives had implemented in their 2-year tenure including leadership training programmes for executives and teenagers, medical outreach, periodic discounted produce market andCDA Library.

Others are; continuous road rehabilitation, security houses, secretariat finishing works and furnishing, solar illumination of the community, solar CCTV security camera and now the Vocational skill acquisition training.

Among the notable guests present at the occasion were HRH the Baale of Selewu – Chief Debo Olugbode, the CDC chairman – Alhaji Rasaki Ibiyeye, the CDC Treasurer- Alhaji Adewale Gbadamosi and a host of dignitaries, executives of CDAs.

The graduands during the programme were also taught how to buy, evaluate and sell their products. They were further advised by the Registrar, Mrs.Josiah to develop and become entrepreneurs with their vocations.
