Fight reportedly erupted between a lecturer and a female student inside a lecture hall at Niger Delta University (NDU), Bayelsa State.
According to eyewitnesses, the heated confrontation began as a verbal exchange, before it quickly escalated into a physical altercation, throwing the class into confusion.
Students reportedly fled the hall while others recorded the incident on their phones.
The videos of the incident which have since gone viral on social media, showed the lecturer and student dragging themselves.
Although, the cause of the fight remains unclear, but students argued it may have been triggered by a disagreement over class rules and academic-related issues.
The university authorities are yet to issue an official statement as of the time of this report, but sources within the institution said the matter is under investigation.
