69,376 Eligible Voters Completed Online Pre-registration With 7hrs- INEC

 

The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced a strong start to the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration exercise, revealing that 69,376 Nigerians completed online pre-registration within the first seven hours of the portal going live.

A signed by its National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, on Monday, said “The registration portal went live at 8.30am, but by 3.30pm, just seven hours later, as many as 69,376 Nigerians pre-registered online.

“Of this figure, 33,803 (48.7percent) are male while 35,573 (51.3 percent) are female. In terms of age, 48,033 (69.2 percent) are young persons aged 18-34. The portal is available 24 hours everyday of the week at https://cvr.inecnigeria.org,” Olumekun disclosed.

In addition to the digital option, INEC is set to begin in-person registration at its 811 State and Local Government offices nationwide starting Monday, August 25, 2025.

This option will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on weekdays only.

Meanwhile, the commission is set to commence the in-person registration option on Monday 25th August 2025 at our 811 State and Local Government offices nationwide from 9.00am – 3.00pm during weekdays (Monday to Friday) only.
