President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja on a two-nation working visit to Japan and Brazil, with a brief stopover in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.
The presidential Airforce one aircraft took off on Friday from the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 11:15 a.m.
A statement on Wednesday by the presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, said the President’s first stop would be Yokohama, Japan, where he will attend the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) from August 20 to 22.
With the theme “Co-create Innovative Solutions with Africa,” TICAD9 will focus on driving Africa’s economic transformation, strengthening institutions through private investment and innovation, and building a resilient, sustainable continent anchored on human security, peace, and stability.
Beyond the plenary sessions, Tinubu is also expected to hold bilateral meetings and engage with executives of Japanese companies with investments in Nigeria.
