The governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, on Wednesday visited the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, at his private residence.
This was disclosed by the Governor Alia Media Centre on its X handle on Wednesday.
Alia and Akume are staunch member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The purpose of their meeting was not revealed by the Media Centre but it is believed it was for reconciliation between the two leaders.
“H.E. Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia @HyacinthAlia visits the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, at his private residence this morning.
“Peace is non-negotiable in Benue! A strong step toward lasting peace”, the Media Centre said in its post.
It was reported that Alia and Akume were not in good term politically for sometime.
