Just two minutes later, Sesko, who has scored four goals in his last four appearances, drilled a clinical finish past Fulham’s goalkeeper to hand United all three points.
The win marks Carrick’s third consecutive victory since taking charge, following unexpected triumphs over Manchester City and Premier League leaders Arsenal, suggesting the former midfielder may have the Midas touch.
United remain unbeaten in their last seven league matches, moving up to fourth place as they chase Champions League qualification. The side’s recent form has sparked calls for Carrick to be considered for a permanent managerial role.
The match also saw controversy, as Fulham had a goal disallowed by VAR and a potential penalty ruled outside the box. Despite the tense finish, United’s resilience and late heroics proved decisive.
Off the pitch, hundreds of fans protested outside Old Trafford before kickoff, expressing frustration at the club’s ownership and management, highlighting ongoing tensions despite the team’s improved performances.
