Tinubu Focused on Governance, Won’t Be Distracted By Political Coalition – Presidency

The Presidency has dismissed the recently formed political coalition against President Bola Tinubu, describing its leaders as “disgruntled and frustrated politicians” driven by self-interest rather than the public good.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, stated in a post on X that Tinubu remains focused on governance and delivering on his promises to Nigerians.

“President Tinubu is focused on governance to build a prosperous country. He is on the way to achieving this. Two months to his midterm, he has many solid achievements to showcase. Intractable problems are being tackled headlong,” Onanuga wrote.

The statement comes amid growing opposition movements that are challenging the current administration in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections. This is also due to President Tinubu’s recent declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, which has resulted in the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other state officials.

In response to the President’s declaration, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai held a press conference on Thursday to criticize the President’s actions as unconstitutional and urge the National Assembly to reject the proclamation.

However, the Presidency maintains that Tinubu remains undeterred and committed to his reforms.

Onanuga insisted that the so-called coalition is merely an “amalgam of Tinubu haters” whose sole agenda is to stop the President.

“Their leaders are sore losers, and they are not politicians after the public good,” he added.
