The Olugbodi Family of Ara Kingdom in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State has announced the passing of its patriarch, Chief Joshua Oyedele Olugbodi.
Chief Olugbodi, a former senior executive of the Central Bank of Nigeria, died on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the age of 94.
A distinguished community leader and philanthropist, he was the Bobagunwa of Ara Kingdom and also served as Chairman of Egbedore Local Government Area in Osun State.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Olabisi Olugbodi, as well as several children and grandchildren.
Reacting to his passing, one of his children, Dr. Tunji Olugbodi, Executive Vice Chairman of Verdant Zeal Communications Limited and the Asiwaju of Ara Kingdom, described the loss as devastating.
“We are deeply saddened by the death of Baba. While we mourn his departure, we are grateful to God for a life of sacrifice, impact, and exemplary service to humanity,” he said.
The family noted that burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
