Tinubu Appoints Jim Ovia Chairman Of NELFUND

President Bola Tinubu has named Mr. Jim Ovia, a prominent banker and entrepreneur, as the new Chairman of the Board for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
The development was disclosed in a statement made public on Friday, signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale,
Ovia, renowned for founding one of Nigeria’s leading banks, has been tipped by the presidency to bring a wealth of experience and philanthropy to the role, particularly in supporting and empowering young Nigerians.
An alumnus of Harvard Business School with a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Louisiana, Ovia is poised to lead NELFUND in its mission to ensure sustainable higher education and skill development for Nigerian students and youths.
President Tinubu further affirmed that the appointment underscores the government’s commitment to providing access to education for all Nigerians, regardless of financial constraints, and to empower the nation’s youth for success in the knowledge-based global economy.
