LASCOTA Badagry West Installs Ex-Council Chairman as Patron, Confers Leadership Award
The Badagry West Chapter of the Lagos State Council of Tradesmen and Artisans (LASCOTA), the umbrella body for artisans in the Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has formally installed Joseph Bamgbose as its Patron and conferred on him an Award of Excellence in Leadership.
The honour was bestowed in recognition of his sustained support, fatherly mentorship and unwavering commitment to the empowerment of artisans across Badagry West.
Speaking during the presentation, the President of LASCOTA Badagry West, Comrade Josa Samson, described the award as “long overdue and well deserved,” recalling Bamgbose’s consistent support for the association over the years.
According to him, “When we started this association many years ago, Hon. Bamgbose was the Council Chairman. He stood by us, encouraged us and supported us like a father. He has remained a listening leader, a guide and an adviser. He gave us Gbenu, who continued in that same supportive spirit, and I must say that Hon. Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren (RiKAY), whom he has also given us, is exceptional. In just 100 days in office, we have received massive empowerment kits from the council. It is only proper that we recognise the root of these blessings, which is why we deemed it fit to honour you, sir.”
In his response, Bamgbose expressed deep gratitude to the association, describing the recognition as both humbling and inspiring.
In his words, “I am deeply honoured by this gesture from LASCOTA. You represent the strength, skill and enterprise that keep Badagry West thriving. Supporting you has always been a duty I carry with pride, and seeing the remarkable progress under Hon. RiKAY reassures me that our collective efforts are yielding results. Leadership is about continuity, and I am glad that the seeds planted years ago are now producing even greater harvests. As your Patron, I remain fully committed to your growth, welfare and advancement.”
The Apex Leader dedicated the award to artisans across Badagry West, urging them to remain united, innovative and steadfast as critical drivers of grassroots development.
