Osimhen Fires As Galatasaray S.K. Beat İstanbul Başakşehir F.K. 2–0 Ahead of Liverpool F.C. Clash

Galatasaray received a major confidence boost ahead of Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League second-leg clash with Liverpool F.C. after securing a 2–0 victory over city rivals İstanbul Başakşehir F.K. in the Turkish Super Lig in Istanbul on Saturday.

Notably, their leading striker, Victor Osimhen, once again demonstrated his scoring ability by netting one of the goals.
Osimhen sealed the victory for the Turkish giants with a well-taken effort to make it 2–0.

The win moved Galatasaray S.K. seven points clear of their closest rivals, Fenerbahçe S.K., at the top of the Super Lig table.

The 67th-minute strike was Osimhen’s 12th league goal of the season.
It was an audacious finish, as the Nigerian striker controlled a long ball inside the box before firing past the goalkeeper.

Moments earlier, the Super Eagles forward had come close to scoring with a spectacular overhead kick that crashed against the crossbar.

On Wednesday night, Galatasaray will take a 1–0 advantage to Anfield for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Liverpool.
The winner on aggregate will advance to the quarter-finals of the competition.
