Five people were reportedly trapped as three storey building collapsed at Oyesonuga street, off Oye roundabout, Isolo road in Mushin area, Lagos .
NewsBeatng gathered that two were rescued, while three females occupant of the building were still under the debris of the building Collapse as at time of filing this report.
The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, in a statement issued, said that the agency and other first responders were carrying out search and rescue operations at the site of the collapsed building.
Oke-Osanyintolu added ” On arrival of LRT at the scene of incident, it was discovered that a 3 storey building had collapsed at aforementioned address.
“Further investigation revealed that the collapsed building was an adjoining building to another 3 storey building”.
Although, the LASEMA boss said that two people who were trapped inside the building have been rescued and treated, adding ” However, we were informed two females that are occupant of the building are still missing . Search and Rescue operation is on going”.
He added ” LRT, LASG fire, LNSC, LABSCA and NPF are all responders at the scene. There are visible cracks on the remaining standing building that needs urgent attention. Building has been cordoned off and evacuated, Operation still ongoing at the scene of the incident,he said”.
