The Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area (IILCDA) in Lagos State, Comrade Lasisi Akinsanya, has inaugurated two road projects to mark the 356th day of his second term in office.

The projects, located at Itoki Road, Ikotun, and Olanrewaju Yekini/Rabiat Akinsanya Road, Egan, were commissioned on Wednesday in the presence of the Olukotun of Ikotun Land, Oba Asiwaju Gbadabiu, and the Alakesan of Akesan Kingdom, Oba Nurudeen Abidemi.

Also in attendance were council executives, councillors, Igando-Ikotun All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts and members, as well as community leaders.

Speaking at the commissioning, Akinsanya attributed the projects to increased government resources following the removal of fuel subsidy by President Bola Tinubu, describing the road projects as part of the gains of the policy.

He commended Tinubu for his economic reforms and urged Nigerians to support the President’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.

The council chairman explained that the projects were funded through revenue generated from taxpayers and allocations received from the Federal Government, urging residents to continue to pay their taxes.

Akinsanya said, “When people ask about the gains of the fuel subsidy removal policy of President Bola Tinubu, we show them that these projects are part of the gains. It is the taxes and, majorly, the allocations from the Federal Government that we are using to execute these projects.

“That is why I want Nigerians to re-elect President Bola Tinubu for a second term. He has done well for the country.

“President Tinubu came up with NELFUND for students. No student has an excuse not to go to school anymore. Any tertiary student can access the loan online without stress. This is a laudable policy by our leader. We should vote for him again in 2027 to continue his good works for the country.”

He also urged residents to vote for all APC candidates, including the party’s Lagos State governorship candidate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, whom he described as an experienced public administrator.

The two monarchs commended Akinsanya for the projects, describing their execution as speedy and commendable.

They urged residents to make proper use of the roads and protect the facilities from damage, stressing that the projects belonged to the communities.
