The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) is set to introduce a new scheduling pattern, with league matches to be played on Friday evenings, early Saturdays and Sundays.
The new arrangement is expected to provide greater flexibility in the scheduling of NPFL fixtures while giving fans more opportunities to follow league matches throughout the weekend.
As part of the new schedule, Shooting Stars will host Ranchers Bees at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16, in what is expected to be one of the first Friday evening fixtures under the new arrangement.
The introduction of Friday night football could add a new dimension to the NPFL, with clubs potentially benefiting from increased attendance and greater visibility for their matches.
The new scheduling pattern could also provide clubs with more flexibility in planning their fixtures and allow supporters to attend more matches during the weekend.
Further details on the implementation of the new kick-off schedule are expected as the league season progresses.
