Independence Day: Okpebholo Urges Unity, Patriotism, Reaffirms Commitment To Security, Infrastructure

Edo State Governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to security, infrastructure development and improved public services as Nigeria marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.
In his Independence Day message, Okpebholo said the state government was working to protect lives and property, rehabilitate roads, strengthen healthcare facilities, improve education, support agriculture and create opportunities for young people.
The governor acknowledged that, despite progress recorded, more work remained to address the state’s challenges and improve residents’ welfare.
He pledged to continue listening to residents and pursuing practical governance, while urging citizens to promote peace, unity, patriotism and the protection of public assets.
Okpebholo also commended Edo residents for their resilience and patience, and acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s efforts towards national growth and development.
He called for collective commitment to Nigeria’s shared future as the country celebrates 66 years of independence.
