Enyimba FC of Aba’s poor start to the 2026/27 season continued on Wednesday as they suffered a 3-2 home defeat to Sporting Lagos in an NPFL Matchday Four fixture.
The crisis-hit Enyimba surrendered a 2-0 lead to the Lagos-based side, suffering their second consecutive defeat of the season.
The result leaves the People’s Elephants at the bottom of the table, marking their worst start to a season in years.
In Ibadan, Shooting Stars bounced back from their 3-1 defeat to Plateau United in Jos last Sunday with a 2-0 victory over visiting Katsina United at the Lekan Salami Stadium.
Ridwan Olanrewaju and Omar Adegoke scored in each half to secure the victory for the Oluyole Warriors.
In Kano, Barau FC defeated visiting Abia Warriors of Umuahia 2-0, while Bendel Insurance edged Ikorodu City 2-1 in Benin.
At the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos, Kano Pillars were held to a 1-1 draw by hosts Inter Lagos, while Warri Wolves forced Niger Tornadoes to a goalless draw at the Bako Kontagora Stadium in Minna.
Elsewhere, Rangers International edged Ranchers Bees 1-0 at their adopted home in Owerri. Doma United were held to a 2-2 draw by Plateau United in Gombe, while Kwara United secured a 2-1 home victory over Nasarawa United.
