Victor Osimhen Stars As Galatasaray Clinch Super Lig Glory

Galatasaray clinched a record-extending 26th Turkish Super Lig title on Saturday, with Victor Osimhen playing a decisive role in the triumph.

The Nigeria national football team striker scored twice as Galatasaray defeated Antalyaspor 4-2 in a thrilling encounter to officially seal the league crown.

Antalyaspor took the lead just before halftime through Soner Dikmen, but Mario Lemina restored parity for Galatasaray in the 56th minute.

Dikmen completed his brace with a superb free-kick in the 62nd minute to put the hosts back in front, but Osimhen responded four minutes later by calmly converting from the penalty spot to level the contest once again.

The former SSC Napoli striker then grabbed his second goal in the closing stages, firing home from close range after capitalising on a defensive mix-up in the Antalyaspor backline.

Kaan Ayhan sealed the victory with Galatasaray’s fourth goal deep into stoppage time, finishing off a precise assist from Mauro Icardi.

The title marked Galatasaray’s fourth consecutive league triumph under manager Okan Buruk. Buruk also became only the second person after Pep Guardiola to win four straight league titles in Europe’s top 10 leagues both as a player and a manager, while becoming the first to achieve the feat with the same club.

Osimhen’s latest heroics further highlighted his outstanding season for Galatasaray, with the Nigerian forward now recording 22 goals and eight assists across all competitions.
