Lagos Expands Parking Reforms As LASPA Sets Up Ikorodu West Area Office

As part of efforts to strengthen parking management across Local Government and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State, the General Manager of the Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA), Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, led her team on a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju.

The visit formed part of LASPA’s strategic move to ensure a seamless take-off of its newly established Area Office in Ikorodu West LCDA. It was held at the Chairman’s office within the council secretariat.

Speaking during the visit, Mrs. Adelabu reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with key stakeholders and residents to actualise the Lagos State Government’s policy on effective parking management.

She noted that the establishment of the LASPA Area Office in Ikorodu reflects the agency’s resolve to decentralise its operations and bring parking management solutions closer to the grassroots.

In his response, Hon. Olanrewaju welcomed the LASPA General Manager and her team, expressing appreciation for the siting of the Area Office within the council area.

He stated that LASPA’s presence would enhance parking regulation, improve traffic flow, and support socio-economic development in Ikorodu West.

The Chairman also assured the Authority of the council’s full support and cooperation, pledging to work closely with LASPA to ensure the success of its operations.

A major highlight of the visit was the inspection of the soon-to-be-commissioned LASPA Area Office, where officials assessed the facility and evaluated the availability of essential equipment required for immediate operational readiness.
