Lagos State University (LASU) has been named the Octagon Media Most Digitally Innovative Nigerian University of the Year 2025, in recognition of its strides in digital transformation, education technology integration, and its commitment to enriching learning through modern digital platforms.
The award was presented at the 12th Anniversary and Champions Awards Ceremony of The Octagon Media Group, held on Thursday at Leotori Halls & Lodge, Abule Taylor, Lagos.
The Octagon Champions Award is an annual event that celebrates organisations and individuals whose contributions have significantly advanced national development, societal progress, and human empowerment.
LASU’s recognition underscores the university’s achievements in promoting digital literacy, enhancing administrative efficiency, and deploying technology to improve research, teaching, and community engagement.
Representatives of The Octagon Media praised LASU for its exemplary digital education practices, integrity, and innovation, noting that these qualities have earned the institution national admiration and positioned it as a leading model in Nigeria’s higher education sector.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Oseni Taiwo Afisi, represented the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, and led the university’s delegation to the event.
