Wike’s Faction Summons Emergency PDP BoT, NEC Meetings After Mass Expulsions

The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has announced that an emergency meeting of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) will hold on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

In a notice issued on Monday by the factional National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, and shared on X by the media aide to the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka, both meetings are scheduled to take place at the NEC Hall of the PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

According to the notice, the BoT meeting will commence at 11:00 a.m., followed by the NEC meeting at 2:00 p.m.

“Attendance is very important as crucial matters will be discussed and addressed,” the statement added.

The development comes days after the PDP, at its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, expelled several high-profile members — including Wike, Anyanwu, former National Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, and Imo PDP Chairman Austin Nwachukwu — over alleged anti-party activities.

The motion for their expulsion was moved by former PDP Deputy National Chairman (South), Bode George, and seconded by the Bauchi State PDP Chairman, Samaila Buga.

The decision was subsequently put to a voice vote by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, who chairs the PDP Governors’ Forum. The motion received overwhelming support from delegates, underscoring the party’s renewed determination to address internal dissent and enforce discipline within its ranks.
