… implores citizens to discard politics of bitterness
A non-denominational Christian group, Christian Conscience, has called on all eligible Nigerians to collect their Permanent Voter Card as it remains the most powerful instrument for change, and to vote when the time comes.
The group urged citizens to discard the politics of hatred and bitterness.
It admonished Nigerians to use the ongoing voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and prepare to vote.
These were contained in a statement jointly signed on Thursday by the Chairman, Dr. Mrs. Yetunde Akinluyi, and the Secretary, Revd. Dr. Kolawole Verrals.
The statement encouraged citizens to participate actively in the electoral process, describing their votes as the primary instrument for genuine change.
The group emphasised that the current government of President Bola Tinubu has only spent two years in office and should be given the space to govern for the love of the nation. It reminded Nigerians that it is God who anoints leaders.
“We have watched with keen interest public discourse on what should happen in 2027 general elections. The present government of Asiwaju Tinubu has just spent two years in office, the coalition is in earnest.
“We should allow governance to run for the love of the Nation. After all, it’s only God that enthrones Leaders,” the statement read in part.
