Ondo Govt Pledges Continuous Partnership With Community In Celebrating Arogbo Ibe Day

 

The Ondo State Government has pledged continuous partnership with the Arogbo community in celebrating Arogbo Ibe Day, marking a historic milestone in the cultural development of the state.

Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Afolabi Adesoji, made this known in Akure while receiving stakeholders from the Arogbo community of Ese-Odo Local Government Area. led by the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Tob Loko.

Adesoji lauded the Arogbo people for their steadfast commitment to preserving their cultural heritage, assuring that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism will work closely with the community to promote Arogbo Ibe Day as a platform for unity, cultural preservation, and economic growth through tourism.

In his remarks, Hon. Loko expressed appreciation on behalf of the Arogbo community, describing the development as a historic first in the history of Ondo State.

The Commissioner for Environment noted that the partnership, commencing with the 2025 edition, would give the festival greater recognition and provide opportunities for the younger generation to connect with their heritage.

He reaffirmed that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa remains committed to reviving culture and tourism in Ondo State, stressing that the recognition of Arogbo Ibe Day as a state-partnered celebration henceforth is a clear demonstration of that commitment.
