Aiyedatiwa Presents Staff of Office To two Ilaje Kings

The governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has presented instrument of appointments and staff of office to Oba Ademola Akinbule, the Yasere of Oriretan and Oba Olusola Ajaka, the Gbogunro of Idi-Ogba Alagbon in Ilaje Local Government Area.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan.
Aiyedatiwa noted that the elevation of some existing chieftaincies and the recognition of new ones in the State is a testament to the respect and due regard that Government accords traditional institution.
The governor said on June 20th, 2025, the State Executive Council approved the change of the title of Yashere of Ilepepe to Yashere of Oriretan following its confirmation that the request has been critically examined and found worthy of consideration.

He congratulated Oba Akinbule, the Yasere of Oriretan on his ascension as the pioneer Oba of Oriretan in Ilaje Local Government Area, urging the monarch to see his appointment as a divine call to serve his people.
Aiyedatiwa added that the security of the residents of Ondo State is a topmost priority of his administration and promised to continue to make concerted efforts to rid communities of miscreants and other criminals.
In his welcome address, Chairman, Ilaje Local Government Area, Maurice Oripenaye, commended the Governor for approving the stool, adding that the occasion symbolizes the recognition accorded traditional leadership and cultural heritage in Ilaje.
The Chairman also lauded the governor for his commitment to both human and infrastructural development in the State including construction of asphalt roads, flagging off of the construction of dual carriage way from Okitipupa to Igbokoda, renovation of schools and hospitals and provision of adequate security measures in the State to guarantee safety of lives and properties.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, noted that the ceremony was a demonstration of the commitment of the government to resolving all outstanding Chieftaincy matters in the State.
