IKEDC Inaugurates Kwaru 15MVA Injection Substation For More Stable Power Supply

 

….Targets Over 50, 000 residents, businesses

The Ikeja Electric Distribution Company (IKEDC) has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Kwaru 15MVA injection substation in Abaranje-Ikotun area of Lagos State.

In a post on its official facebook page on Saturday, IKEDC said the strategic infrastructure milestone marks a major leap toward improving the quality and reliability of electricity supply across the rapidly growing Ikotun corridor.

The commissioning was carried out by the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu.

IKEDC stated that the newly launched substation would benefit over 50,000 residents and businesses.

The post read “On August 1st, 2025, Ikeja Electric proudly commissioned the state-of-the-art Kwaru 15MVA Injection Substation in the Abaranje-Ikotun axis of Lagos State.

” This strategic infrastructure milestone marks a major leap toward improving the quality and reliability of electricity supply across the rapidly growing Ikotun corridor.

” The newly launched substation is set to benefit over 50,000 residents and businesses, offering more stable, efficient, and sustainable power. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, it will enhance distribution network resilience by injecting an additional 15MVA capacity, reduce technical and transmission losses, strengthen load management for improved energy efficiency and support ongoing urban expansion and economic growth.

“This commissioning underscores our mission to power communities and empower lives through innovation and reliable service”.
