…starts with online pre-registration
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) for the 2025 general elections will commence on August 18, beginning with online pre-registration.
INEC in a statement posted on its official X handle on Friday, said physical registration will begin a week later, on August 25, and will take place at all INEC local government area offices and designated centres nationwide.
According to INEC, the exercise will run from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
INEC encouraged eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the registration window, stating, “Your votes start with registration. Don’t miss your opportunity to register.”
The online pre-registration is to be done through the commission’s portal, cvr.inecnigeria.org.
INEC had earlier warned against underage and multiple registrations, saying the CVR process would be closely monitored to ensure compliance with electoral guidelines.
