I Cannot Disrespect My Political Genealogy – Eno

The governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has said he belongs to a political genealogy and as such will do everything to respect that genealogy.

Speaking at a critical stakeholders meeting held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, Governor Eno sued for love, unity and cooperation from all for the purpose of the growth and progress of the State.

He said nothing has changed in that political genealogy as he will continue to relate respectfully with the leaders produced from the State.

“I have a political genealogy, I don’t know about you, and I am not going to insult that genealogy. I have a political Grandfather, I have a Political Father who I will always relate with, and I must tell you upfront, and then myself. As Governor, those who know me, know that I will never ask anyone to insult our leaders, and anyone who does so, does so at his own peril.

“Governor Eno said further that irrespective of diverse opinions on the respective leaders of the State , it is imperative for everyone to love, encourage and support them. They are people that God has raised for us. You may not like them. But they are there by God’s Grace and God has a reason for bringing any leader at a time.”

Demonstrating his mission as a Pastor, he cited 1 Corinthians 3:4 where he recounted that while in the Bible, Apostle Paul is credited with planting the seeds while Apollos watered to make them grow.

He explained that neither the planter nor the waterer can take the credit for the growth and survival of the plant, as all the credits go to God who made all things.

“For those of you who have come with me(to APC from the PDP)I do not take credit for anything and I do not take the decisions you have made lightly. For those who have received us with open hands, starting from the Senate President and his wife, who opened their arms to receive me; if we had a hostile reception, there is no way we will be sitting here today. We want to thank the APC State Chairman and State Working Committee members for receiving us in the interest of our State”, said Eno.
