The Edo State Commissioner for Livestock Development, Ohimai Ehijimetor, has paid a working visit to the National Project Coordinator of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project, Mr. Sanusi Abubakar, at the project’s National Coordinating Office in Abuja.
The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Edo State Government and the national coordinating office, boosting livestock productivity and ensuring effective implementation of the project in the state.
Speaking during the meeting, Ehijimetor commended the national coordinating team for its strategic guidance, reaffirming the commitment of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration to the full implementation of the L-PRES initiative under the state’s SHINE Agenda.
He said the engagement would help align the state’s programmes with national targets, ensure compliance with implementation guidelines and attract critical resources for livestock farmers and other value-chain stakeholders.
In his remarks, Abubakar commended the Edo State Government for its proactive engagement and assured the delegation of continued technical support towards achieving the project’s development objectives.
The partnership is expected to strengthen livestock value chains across Edo State through improved feed and fodder production, breed improvement programmes, enhanced animal health services, upgraded infrastructure and expanded market linkages.
The commissioner was accompanied by the Edo State L-PRES Project Coordinator, Mrs. Betsy Ikpikhumi.
