The Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) has taken its registration campaign to Ajah, urging residents to register and support evidence-based planning and effective service delivery.
The sensitisation programme and town hall meeting brought together community leaders, traders, artisans and residents to learn about LASRRA’s functions and the importance of accurate data.
LASRRA General Manager, Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abisola, said reliable population data was essential for planning and social services. She noted that the Agency was expanding registration to communities, schools, markets and vaccination centres, where parents can now register newborns.
She said registration could facilitate access to government programmes, including ILERA EKO and Lagos State Employment Trust Fund interventions. Eligible artisans and skilled workers could also receive free registration support for the Lagos State Trade Test.
Adebiyi-Abisola said LASRRA’s database contains more than seven million residents and stressed that registration is free, warning residents against paying agents.
The Oba of Ajah Ile and Okun Ajah, Oba Kolawole Abdul-Lateef Lawal-Olumegbon, urged residents to register, noting that accurate data would improve planning for healthcare, education and infrastructure.
LASRRA officials provided information on registration, data correction and validation, as well as the ILERA EKO health insurance scheme.
