Lagos Censors Board Empowers Future Visual Storytellers, Inspires Children Through Photography

The Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board (LSFVCB) has marked World Photography Day by exposing children to photography, visual storytelling and creative expression.
The initiative, organised in collaboration with public and private institutions as well as professional photographers, provided the children with practical experience in photography and visual content production.
As part of the programme, the participants visited the Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC) and the Lagos State Records and Archives Bureau (LASRAB), where they explored a photography studio and an archival museum.
They also received hands-on camera training from professional photographers and visited Racomic Photo Studio to gain further insight into professional photography.
The programme featured a behind-the-scenes tour of the PSSDC transmission studio, giving the children an opportunity to learn about the technical processes involved in producing and transmitting visual content.
The LSFVCB said the initiative was designed to nurture young talent, promote creativity and empower children to become future visual storytellers.
It added that the programme equipped participants with practical knowledge while deepening their appreciation of photography as a tool for capturing experiences, preserving memories and telling compelling stories.
