GITEX NIGERIA 2026 will take place in Abuja and Lagos from August 31 to September 3, 2026.
The event is supported by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, NITDA, and the Lagos State Government, and organised by KAOUN International.
The second edition, themed “Beyond Connectivity: The Bridge to Sovereign Innovation,” aligns with Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.
Through the 3MTT programme, Nigeria has recorded 1.87 million registrations, trained over 135,000 participants, and created 15,000 opportunities. Project BRIDGE is also expanding national ICT infrastructure to improve connectivity.
Expected outcomes include up to 20,000 direct jobs, 150,000 indirect jobs, training for 5,000 youths, and internet penetration above 70%.
GITEX will bring together global tech leaders, investors, and partners to drive AI development, investment, and digital sovereignty in West Africa.
Minister Bosun Tijani said Nigeria is focused on building a competitive AI economy and becoming a technology producer.
The event will feature the GITEX Tech Expo, Startup Festival, and FDX NIGERIA, focusing on finance, digital assets, and inclusion.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu described Lagos as a leading African tech hub.
NITDA DG Kashifu Inuwa stressed the need for secure and inclusive AI systems.
Nigeria continues to expand its digital ecosystem through 3MTT, Project BRIDGE, and its National AI Strategy, aligned with Africa’s projected $1 trillion AI economy by 2035.
GITEX CEO Trixie LohMirmand said West Africa is open for business, with the event aimed at turning innovation into investment and growth.
