Lagos MCCTI Partners Agbado/Oke-Ode LCDA To Boost Grassroots Economic Development
The Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment (MCCTI) has strengthened grassroots economic development through a partnership with Agbado/Oke-Ode LCDA.
The agreement, reached at the Ministry’s Alausa office, will extend enterprise, cooperative, and investment programmes to the grassroots, giving MSMEs better market access, skills, and support.
Permanent Secretary Mr. Babatunde Onigbanjo described the partnership as timely and strategic, noting its focus on delivering measurable benefits and strengthening local businesses.
Representing the LCDA, Henry Akinbobola conveyed the Chairman’s goodwill and said the council aims to connect MSMEs to state programmes.
He added that plans include trade fairs, business seminars, stronger market associations, and closer government-community links.
Directors in the Ministry, Adeyemi Adeyinka, Segun Alugba and Mrs Funmi Dauda also outlined key areas of collaboration.
Adeyinka stressed forming cooperatives to access schemes like LASMECO, which offers low-interest loans.
In his remarks, Alugba highlighted promoting local products through trade fairs and wider market exposure while Mrs. Dauda reaffirmed support for attracting and retaining investment through advisory and aftercare services.
