The Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) emerged champions of the maiden edition of the 2026 Revenue House Football Competition after defeating F&M 10-9 in a dramatic penalty shootout in the final held at Agidigbi Primary School field in Lagos.
The tournament, organised by F&M ACME Enterprises Limited, brought together agencies and organisations within Lagos State’s revenue and public service ecosystem to promote teamwork, employee wellness and inter-agency collaboration through sports.
Ten teams participated in the inaugural championship, including the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA), Office of the Special Adviser on Taxation and Revenue, Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC), Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority, LASRO & LUCAAT, LAGOSHOMS, F&M and eventual champions LASPEC.
In the third-place playoff, the Motor Vehicle Administration Agency (MVAA) claimed the bronze medal via walkover after LIRS failed to honour the fixture.
Speaking after the final, the Director of Finance and Accounts of the Lagos State Mortgage Board, Lateef Subaru, praised the organisers for successfully hosting the competition, noting that the tournament had strengthened relationships among participating agencies.
He expressed optimism that future editions would feature additional sporting events to further promote unity and healthy competition across government agencies.
Chairman of the organising committee, Boluwatife Oluwagbemiga, also expressed satisfaction with the success of the maiden tournament and announced that all equipment used for the competition would be donated to Agidigbi Primary School to support sports development in the community.
“This is the first edition, but the next edition is going to be even better. We have met with the school’s management, and we are leaving the equipment behind while also helping them improve the grass on the pitch,” Oluwagbemiga said.
