Danladi Receives APC Ticket for 2027 Kwara Governorship Race

The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress on Tuesday presented its governorship nomination form to the party’s 2027 candidate and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Salihu Danladi, following the ratification of his victory at the party’s primary election.
Presenting the form in Ilorin, the state APC Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, said the presentation followed the approval of the primary election results by the party’s National Working Committee after considering petitions submitted during the exercise.
Fagbemi said the successful completion of the appeal process paved the way for the party to issue nomination forms to its candidates for submission through the Independent National Electoral Commission’s portal.
“The National Working Committee of our party has gone through all the processes, especially those that have complaints. Those who had complaints ventilated them before the Appeal Committee, which also considered them, and the NWC has now produced the candidates. It is now our duty to give them the forms to fill so they can be uploaded to the INEC portal,” he said.
Responding, Danladi expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu, Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the leadership of the APC at the national and state levels for the confidence reposed in him to fly the party’s flag in the 2027 governorship election.
He also thanked the other aspirants who participated in the primary, describing their contributions as vital to the democratic process and pledging to work closely with them in the interest of the party.
According to him, reconciliation efforts have already begun, noting that all 16 aspirants understood that only one candidate could emerge from the primary and that the focus now should be on strengthening party unity ahead of the election.
“There are reconciliations going on already, as is usual with party primaries. The 16 of us who contested know that a winner must emerge, and now that a winner has emerged, it is left for us to carry everyone along, and we will definitely do that,” Danladi said.
