Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo has been linked with a sensational return to Scottish giants Rangers following his departure from Southampton.
The 29-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Southampton at the expiration of his contract, bringing an end to his three-year stay at St Mary’s Stadium.
Aribo joined Southampton from Rangers in a £10 million deal in 2022 after establishing himself as one of the standout performers at Ibrox.
During his time in Glasgow, the Nigerian international played a key role in Rangers’ Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup triumphs. He also etched his name into the club’s history by scoring in the 2022 UEFA Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt.
However, Aribo struggled to secure regular playing time during his spell at Southampton and also found opportunities limited during a loan stint with Leicester City last season.
A return to Rangers could provide the midfielder with the ideal platform to rediscover his best form and reignite his career in familiar surroundings.
