LAHA 2027: Tinubu Meets Lagos APC Candidates Ahead General Elections

 

The 40 candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Lagos State House of Assembly on Saturday met with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos.

The strategic meeting, attended by key party leaders and stakeholders, provided an opportunity for the candidates to receive direct guidance, encouragement and direction from the President ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Among those present were Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; the Deputy Governor and APC governorship candidate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; Chairman of the Local Organising Committee for the Lagos State APC Primary Elections, Mutiu Are; Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; and Lagos State APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi.

Speaking after the meeting, the APC candidate for Surulere Constituency I, Barr. Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, described the engagement as inspiring, impactful and motivating.

She said the opportunity to receive direct counsel from President Tinubu and other party leaders had further strengthened her resolve to work diligently for the development of Surulere Constituency I and Lagos State.

Odunuga-Bakare expressed appreciation to the party leadership for the confidence reposed in the candidates and reaffirmed her commitment to promoting good governance, inclusive representation, youth empowerment, women’s participation, community development and legislative excellence.

She also reiterated her determination to mobilise support for the APC across the constituency and to work closely with party leaders, members and supporters to secure overwhelming victories for all APC candidates in the elections.
