Table Tennis: Aruna, Omotayo Suffer Major Drop In ITTF Rankings

Nigeria’s leading table tennis players have suffered significant setbacks in the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) world rankings.

Nigeria’s most decorated table tennis star and former African number one, Quadri Aruna, dropped 20 places to World No. 76.

The latest rankings also saw Aruna slip to fourth position in Africa.

Another Nigerian star, Olajide Omotayo, also fell in the rankings, dropping six places to World No. 193. He is now ranked 12th on the continent.

The decline in rankings highlights a difficult period for Nigerian table tennis as both players aim to bounce back and regain their former positions.

Aruna and Omotayo are expected to target upcoming international tournaments as they seek to rebuild momentum and improve their global standings.

The latest rankings come at a crucial period as preparations intensify for major international competitions ahead.
