The lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Stephen Ogundipe, popularly known as Omojomolo, has formally declared his intention to seek re-election for a second term.
Ogundipe made the declaration on Monday, calling on constituents to renew his mandate, pledging to build on existing achievements and deliver more dividends of democracy.
He stated that his administration has delivered visible and impactful projects across the seven political wards in the constituency, spanning key sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, employment, and social welfare.
Highlighting his achievements, the lawmaker said over 3,000 pupils had benefited from free coaching initiatives, while 1,200 youths were supported with JAMB forms, leading to over 100 successful admissions into higher institutions.
In the area of employment and empowerment, Ogundipe noted that jobs had been secured for constituents, with more than 200 individuals trained in various vocational skills to promote sustainable livelihoods.
He also pointed to improvements in healthcare delivery, stating that essential medical services and screenings had been brought closer to residents at the grassroots level.
On infrastructure, the lawmaker said his interventions went beyond road rehabilitation to include the opening up of economic routes, improved safety, and expansion of street lighting in strategic locations across the constituency.
Ogundipe further emphasised his legislative contributions, noting that he had sponsored people-oriented bills and raised motions on critical issues such as flooding, security, sanitation, and community welfare, while also providing support to residents through food aid, financial assistance, and empowerment programmes.
Meanwhile, a former Vice Chairman of Oshodi/Isolo Local Government, Daisi Oso, urged constituents to continue supporting him, noting that lawmaking requires experienced hands. He added that Ogundipe possesses the necessary experience to continue in office.
A member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) and leader of the Oshodi/Isolo chapter of The Mandate Movement, Chief Muraina Akanbi Taiwo, represented by Elder Gbenga Arulogun, also called on constituents to back Ogundipe’s re-election bid.
The GAC leader also endorsed President Bola Tinubu, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, and Ogundipe for the 2027 elections.
In his remarks, Musiliu Akinsanya expressed added that road construction is the responsibility of the council chairman, not lawmakers, stressing that legislators should not be blamed for such projects.
Akinsanya also endorsed President Tinubu for a second term, Obafemi Hamzat for Lagos governor, and Hon. Stephen Ogundipe for re-election.
