The Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cornelius Ojelabi, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, faith, and collective progress as Christians commemorate Good Friday.
In a statement issued to mark the solemn occasion, Ojelabi joined Christians in Nigeria and across the world in reflecting on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, whose crucifixion symbolizes love, redemption, and selflessness.
He noted that the virtues demonstrated by Christ—humility, charity, forgiveness, and service should serve as guiding principles for individuals and leaders alike. According to him, these values remain essential for fostering peace and national development.
The APC chairman urged party members and Nigerians to draw inspiration from Christ’s example by committing themselves to unity and working towards the collective good of the nation. He stressed that despite prevailing challenges, the country can overcome through faith, resilience, and shared commitment.
Reflecting on the biblical account in the Gospel of John, Ojelabi expressed hope that just as Christ declared “It is finished,” Nigerians would witness an end to their afflictions and tribulations.
He described the Easter period as a season of renewal, encouraging citizens to embrace spiritual and personal transformation, as well as opportunities for growth and progress.
Ojelabi further emphasized the need for togetherness, noting that national challenges are not insurmountable when citizens remain united in purpose and vision.
He prayed that the blessings of Good Friday would bring hope, healing, and restoration to families, while expressing optimism that the Easter season would usher in peace and prosperity for Nigeria.
