Osimhen Chooses Extended Medical Care To Speed Up Comeback

Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen has reportedly extended his hospital stay following surgery, opting to remain under close medical supervision to aid his recovery.

The Nigerian striker underwent an operation on his arm last Monday after sustaining an injury earlier in the month. Initial reports suggested he would be discharged the next day, but the plan was altered at his request.

According to Turkish journalist Haluk Yürekli, Osimhen personally appealed to club officials to allow him remain in the hospital longer to receive continuous care and speed up his return to action.

The journalist noted that Osimhen preferred to stay under strict medical observation rather than leave immediately after the procedure. His request was granted, with enhanced recovery protocols put in place.

As part of the arrangements, a security guard was stationed outside his hospital room to restrict access and maintain a controlled environment. Even close family members were reportedly not permitted to visit during this period, underscoring the caution surrounding his rehabilitation.

Osimhen has now been discharged after completing the extended stay, with focus shifting to his recovery timeline and eventual return to competitive football.

The injury occurred during a UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash between Galatasaray and Liverpool earlier this month, raising concerns for both club and country due to his key role in attack.

His decision to delay discharge is widely viewed as a proactive move to ensure full recovery and prevent setbacks as he works towards regaining peak fitness.
