Tinubu’s 74th Birthday: Obasa Commends ‘Renewed Hope’ Gains, Urges National Support

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 74th birthday, commending him for delivering on the promises of his Renewed Hope Agenda.
Obasa’s message was conveyed in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Research, Media, and Documentation, Adeshina Oyetayo.
He described the President as a purposeful and pragmatic leader whose commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria deserves widespread appreciation.
“Mr. President, today should be a national day of celebration in honour of your selfless and visionary leadership,” Obasa said.
“I commend your courage and conviction in initiating and implementing critical economic reforms that have lifted Nigeria from the doldrums, stabilised the nation, and set it on the path to prosperity,” he added.
Obasa noted that the initially challenging reforms are now being recognised globally as innovative and effective, citing a January 2026 article in The Economist titled “Nigeria’s economy may be back from the brink.”
According to him, the report highlighted early gains of the administration’s reforms, including a steady decline in headline inflation for 11 consecutive months, the unification of the foreign exchange market, and an increase in foreign reserves to $46 billion, as well as the International Monetary Fund’s upgraded 4.4 per cent GDP growth forecast for 2026.
He said the international recognition indicates that Nigeria is in safe hands under President Tinubu, urging citizens to support his administration and rally behind his re-election bid, while expressing optimism that the benefits of the Renewed Hope Agenda will reach all Nigerians.
