Obasa Urges States To Back Oluremi Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative For Women, Youths
The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt (Hon) Mudashiru Obasa, has called on state governments across Nigeria to support the developmental interventions of the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, describing her Renewed Hope Initiative as a transformative programme for vulnerable women and youths.
Obasa made the call on Friday, while speaking with State House correspondents after a courtesy visit to the First Lady at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
“State governments must seize the momentum created by the First Lady’s Renewed Hope Initiative to drive lasting and sustainable development for our people,” he said.
The Speaker noted that programmes championed by Senator Tinubu are already delivering measurable benefits in key sectors such as education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.
He added that stronger collaboration between the initiative and subnational governments would significantly expand its reach and impact.
Obasa commended the First Lady’s vision and commitment, describing her efforts as timely and impactful, particularly for disadvantaged communities.
According to him, the initiative’s grassroots focus aligns with Nigeria’s broader goal of inclusive development and poverty reduction.
He also explained that his visit was aimed not only at discussing development issues but also at extending goodwill to the First Lady during the overlapping observances of Ramadan and Lent. He stressed the importance of unity, shared values, and mutual respect during the season of reflection and sacrifice.
The Renewed Hope Initiative, launched by Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has gained recognition for addressing everyday challenges faced by women and youths through vocational training, financial support programmes, health interventions, and educational opportunities.
