In a move to strengthen public service capacity at the start of the new year, the Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Establishments and Training, has commenced its 2026 training programmes with a specialised course for officers in the Planning and Statistics Cadre.

The programme, themed Budgetary and Public Expenditure Management, is being held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

Declaring the programme open, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Establishments and Training, Mrs. Olubusola Abidakun, represented by the Director of Training, Mrs. Modupe Animashaun, said officers in the Planning and Statistics Cadre were selected as the first beneficiaries of the 2026 training schedule because of their strategic role in government planning, budgeting and resource allocation.
