FUNATO Takes Off, Commences First-Ever Post-UTME Screening

The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO), located in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State, has commenced its maiden academic session, marking a significant milestone for the newly established federal institution.

The university announced the development in a statement issued on Friday, confirming the commencement of its first-ever 2025/2026 Post-UTME online screening exercise and the official take-off of academic activities.

The pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olaniyi Babayemi, described the admission exercise as a landmark step toward building a science-driven centre of excellence that integrates agriculture with modern technology.

According to Babayemi, FUNATO is committed to producing graduates who are academically sound, technologically proficient and entrepreneurially inclined, with the capacity to address contemporary national and global challenges.

The university management stated that only candidates who selected FUNATO as their first-choice institution in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) would be considered for admission in the current cycle.

It disclosed that online registration for the screening exercise is ongoing and will close on Monday, January 12, 2026, while the screening itself is scheduled to hold from January 19 to January 30.

The management added that applicants must have a minimum UTME score of 150 and at least five O’Level credit passes, stressing that the requirements are aimed at maintaining high academic standards from the institution’s inception.

As preparations continue to receive its first set of students, the university urged prospective candidates to complete their registration early, describing them as pioneers who will lay the foundation for FUNATO’s future growth and development.
