Abiodun Approves Promotion of Graduate Primary Teachers To GL 17 In Ogun
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved the career advancement of Graduate Primary School Teachers (Tutor Cadre) from Grade Level (GL) 16 to GL 17.
The approval was contained in a statement signed by the State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya.
Mr. Onasanya explained that the decision is aimed at addressing career stagnation at the peak of the tutor cadre and boosting staff motivation to ensure improved service delivery in the primary education system.
He also disclosed that the governor has approved a consolidated salary structure for Head-Teacher General, thereby upgrading their professional status.
According to the Head of Service, the move underscores the state government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector and supporting its workforce.
He added that the policy decision followed a review of existing career progression frameworks and is designed to enhance teaching effectiveness and improve learning outcomes.
Mr. Onasanya said the Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has been directed to implement the policy with immediate effect.
He noted that the development aligns with the ISEYA pillar of the administration, reaffirming Ogun State’s position as the education hub of the country.
The Head of Service further stated that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration remains committed to implementing progressive policies to advance educational development, while urging teachers to sustain dedication to efficient and quality service delivery.
