The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has fixed the fares for the 2026 Hajj, with intending pilgrims expected to pay about N200,000 less than they paid last year.
NAHCON Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Usman, said the federal government approved the fares after consultations with stakeholders, including the Forum of States leadership.
A statement by the Principal Information Officer of the commission, Sani Shafii, on Friday posted on its X handle, said pilgrims from Maiduguri–Yola Zone, comprising Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, and Taraba States, will pay N8.1 million, about N200,000 less than the N8.3 million pilgrims paid last year.
Other northern states will pay N8.2 million, N212,000 less than the N8.4 million pilgrims paid last year.
The southern states’ Hajj fare has been pegged at N8, 561,013.67, N223,000 less than the N8.6 million pilgrims paid last year.
Usman urged intending pilgrims to ensure full fare payment before the deadline of 31 December 2025.
