INEC Recognises David Mark-Led Leadership of ADC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday officially recognised the David Mark-led leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

This development was reflected on INEC’s official website, which now lists the new leadership of the party.

According to the website, INEC acknowledged former Senate President, Sen. David Mark, as the ADC National Chairman, while former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, was recognised as the National Secretary.

Other principal officers officially listed by INEC include Dr. Ibrahim Mani as National Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary, and Prof. Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor as National Legal Adviser.

The recognition follows a July move by opposition politicians and some ADC leaders to adopt the party as the coalition platform for the 2027 elections.

Prominent figures involved in the coalition include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; former PDP National Chairman Uche Secondus; former Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai; 2023 Labour Party Presidential Candidate Peter Obi; former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi; and former APC National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun.

The party has also filled other key positions within its National Working Committee (NWC).
