The Grassroots Mobilisation for Tinubu (GMT), a group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) established to rally support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has begun intensive mobilisation and awareness campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections.
At a one-day seminar held in Lagos for directors of its various directorates, GMT’s Director General, Hon. Bisi Yusuff, said the programme was designed to train the directors on the aims, objectives, and operational strategies of the organisation.
“Our aim is to mobilise millions of votes for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and in Lagos alone, we are targeting five million votes for our dear President. This requires dedication, hard work and commitment. The aim of this seminar, therefore, is to train our directors on what is expected of them. This is an onerous assignment for us and we can only achieve it through dedication and hard work,” Yusuf said.
According to him, GMT is expanding rapidly and is now fully present in Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Kogi, Adamawa, Taraba and Kaduna States. “We are fully prepared and we have commenced work already,” he added.
The Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Tayo Ayinde, who addressed the participants, shared insights on how past electoral victories were achieved. “I was present and involved since the time of Asiwaju as Governor. Dedication and commitment are the major ingredients and we must be diligent. Humility is also important and our approach to people should be humble and humane,” Ayinde said.
Also speaking, GMT’s Director of Administration, Lanre Ogunyemi — a two-time Secretary of the APC in Lagos State — took the directors through the organisation’s work ethics, structure, and chain of authority. He explained the roles of each directorate and how collaboration and synergy among them would make their tasks easier and ensure the group meets its objectives.
The seminar was attended by all GMT directors and deputy directors in Lagos, as well as participants from the national headquarters and directors from Ondo, Oyo, Delta, and Ogun States.
