… official declaration on April 28
The governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, and his deputy, Monday Onyeme, have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress.
Oborevwori moved to the APC along with his predecessor and running mate of Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 presidential election, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.
Others who moved to the ruling party with the governor are his commissioners and major stakeholders in the PDP in Delta State.
Delta state commissioner for information, Charles Aniagwu also announced the defection of PDP stakeholders to the APC on Wednesday.
“The decision was taken to build the bond of love that have existed in our state, to further advance the cause of security and welfare of our people, and to a very large extent, ensure that development in Delta; because every politics is local,” Aniagwu said.
It was gathered that the official declaration would be made Monday 28th of April.
