Interior Minister Inspects NIS Facility Ahead January Passport Automation Application

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Comptroller General of Immigration, Wura-Ola Adepoju, conducted an inspection of the facilities of the Nigeria Immigration Service.

The inspection was in preparation for the forthcoming automation of the passport application process, scheduled to commence this month.

Tunji-Ojo shared photos on his X handle on Tuesday, January 2.

He wrote: “Yesterday, I inspected facilities of the #nigimmigrationalongside the Comptroller General of the Service, Wura-Ola Adepoju.

“This is coming ahead of the automation of the passport application process, which will begin from January 8, 2024, where Nigerians will be able to apply and complete their passport application process online without human contact.

“This is for Nigerians to have a good feel, a sweet experience based on the #RenewedHope agenda of President #officialABAT”
